Isabel Mascareñas

Isabel Mascareñas was born in Cardenas, Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Barry University in Miami Shores. She speaks Spanish and English.

Isabel has been part of the 10News WTSP team since 1995. She started as the Manatee/Sarasota Bureau Chief. Today, she reports on general news and specializes in education, working from our Sarasota Newsroom.

She worked at WINK-TV, Fort Myers, FL (1988-1995) first as a weekend assignment editor/associate producer and quickly worked her way up to reporter/anchor.

Isabel has won 6 Emmys and has been nominated 12 times. She has also won a regional Edward R. Murrow award and Associated Press award.

She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the movies, bicycling, long walks on the beach, working out, gardening, cooking, traveling.

Isabel loves living in the Tampa Bay area where people choose to vacation. She loves the beautiful beaches, the amazing sunsets, the friendly people and diverse cultures, from sports to entertainment, and the arts.
