Kathryn Bursch grew up in Alexandria, Minn., and some Midwest values of hard work, modesty, and a fondness for hot dish stick with her. After high school, she studied at the University of Minnesota, where she received a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Kathryn's first reporting/anchor job was at WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In 1987, she ventured south to the Tampa Bay area, where she was a reporter and anchor at WTOG-TV. She has been happily reporting at 10News WTSP since 1999.
Kathryn has been honored professionally by several organizations. She has received several Emmy, Regional Murrow, and Associated Press awards.
Her family comes first, and her husband and middle school-aged son keep her busy. She plays violin in the Suncoast Symphony and dabbles at the piano at home. She is also an animal lover and enjoys riding horses at a local stable.
