Ryan Bass

What's up, guys? I'm Ryan. Sports is, basically, my life. I grew up playing them. I'm constantly watching them. Now, I cover them for a living. Sounds like a dream come true to me.

My style is different, but different is good. I model myself after guys like Scott Van Pelt and Matt Vasgersian, two of the best in my opinion. What you see is what you get, on and off TV. I love that.

But there's much more to my story, and it's not all about sports. Okay, kind of.

I'm pretty fond of my hometown, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, where I was born and raised, but there's something about St. Pete and Tampa Bay that keeps drawing me back to it. My father grew up here, so there's definitely some sentimental value behind it. Either way, I love this city, and I've adopted it as my second home.

If St. Pete is 2A, then Orlando is 2B. Man, O-Town is amazing, and the love affair really began while I was at UCF, my alma mater. I love my Knights, and I proudly represent them, even in Bulls Country. Charge On!

My career has taken me places I never dreamed possible, like to Iowa for my first anchor job at the Independent News Network. That was certainly a learning experience for this Miami boy!

Luckily, I was only there eight months, before landing a job with Bright House Sports Network and Bay News 9 in February of 2012, right here in St. Pete. I spent three amazing years with BHSN.

Then I was offered a dream job. CBS Sports hired me to be a national anchor for CBSSports.com, where I hosted hour-long shows, including Fantasy Football Today, Daily Fantasy Live and Draft Grades Live, covering the NBA and NFL Drafts. What an amazing experience, especially to come full circle and work in Fort Lauderdale, my home town! It was so cool.

Eventually, I was offered the opportunity to return to Tampa Bay, and I couldn't pass it up.

They love country music here in the Bay, much more than South Florida. That's another one of my passions. I love the stories behind the songs, the strum of the guitar and a smooth country tune. You can probably catch me jamming to the likes of Chris Young, Jason Aldean or Jon Pardi, you know.

See you at a concert, or a TV screen, real soon.

Cheers!
