I was born in Cardenas, Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. I graduated from Barry University in Miami Shores. I speak Spanish and English.
I have been part of the 10 News team since 1995. I started as the Manatee/Sarasota Bureau Chief. Today I report on General News and specialize in Education, working from our Sarasota Newsroom. I worked at WINK-TV, Fort Myers, FL (1988-1995) first as a Weekend Assignment Editor/Associate Producer and quickly worked my way up to Reporter/Anchor.
I have won 6 Emmys and been nominated 12 times. I have also won a regional Edward R. Murrow award and Associated Press.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, bicycling, long walks on the beach, working out, gardening, cooking, traveling.
I love living in the Tampa Bay area where people choose to vacation -- I'm so lucky! I love the beautiful beaches, the amazing sunsets, the friendly people and diverse cultures, from sports to entertainment, and the arts... Tampa Bay has it all!
