Ultra Music Festival 2018: What you need to know

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Ultra Music Festival.

MIAMI - The 2018 Ultra Music Festival is set for March 23-25 in downtown Miami's Bayfront Park.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the electronic dance music festival.

Here's what festival-goers need to know ahead of the big weekend:

Tickets

General-admission tickets have sold out to the three-day festival. Three-day VIP tickets are still available starting at $1,499.95. VIP tickets are only available for those 21 years of age or older.

Tickets through third-party vendors are also available. However, buyers should be wary to ensure the ticket they purchase isn't counterfeit. A general-admission ticket is listed at $443 on StubHub.

Attendees must be 18 years of age or older.

Festival Hours

Friday, March 23: 4 p.m. to midnight

Saturday, March 24: Noon to midnight

Sunday, March 25: Noon to 11 p.m.

Lineup

Ultra lists 119 artists on its website set to perform at this year's festival, including Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Axwell and Ingrosso, Benny Benassi, Carl Cox, Cedric Gervais, David Guetta, Empire of the Sun, Eric Prydz, Fedde Le Grand, Hardwell, Kaskade, Kungs, Laidback Luke, Marshmello, Nicky Romero, Oliver Heldens, Patrick Topping, RL Grime, Steve Aoki, Tchami, The Chainsmokers, Tiësto and Virtual Self.

Clear-Bag Policy

Although festival-goers are encouraged not to bring bags to the event, the items outlined below are permissible:

• Bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl or clear PVC, which do not exceed 13”x17” in size

• One-gallon clear zip-top bag

• Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand either with or without a handle or strap is allowed

• Hydration packs, which are NOT backpacks, will be allowed

• “Fanny-pack(s)” or similar waist-packs will be allowed

• Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for medically required items after proper inspection

Prohibited Items

Note: All festival goers are subject to search upon entry into the event. All attendees are subject o a through TSA-style pat-down search, including emptying pockets and bags. Re-entry, camping and overnight attendance are not permitted.

  • Illegal or illicit substances, drugs, or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons of any kind including, but not limited to, pocket knives and self-defense sprays
  • Flammable items or liquids including aerosols and fireworks
  • Markers, pens or spray paint
  • Backpacks, purses, or bags allowed except bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl or clear PVC not exceeding 13 inches x17 inches
  • Stuffed animals
  • Facial masks
  • Outside food or beverage, including alcohol
  • Bottles, cans, canteens, flasks or coolers
  • Opened over-the-counter medication or eye drops
  • Opened packs of cigarettes or tampons
  • Pacifiers or glow sticks
  • Balloons, balls, inflatable balls, frisbees or flying disks
  • Umbrellas, chairs, blankets, sleeping bags or tents
  • Bicycles, skateboards, hover-boards, scooters or personal motorized vehicles
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Animals except for service animals assisting an individual with a disability. “Comfort,” “therapy” or “emotional support” animals do not meet the definition of a service animal and are not permitted entry to the event.
  • Large chains, chained wallets or spiked jewelry
  • Laser pens, laser pointers, or similar focused light devices
  • Water guns, squirt guns, spray bottles or misters
  • Musical instruments, noisemakers or air horns
  • Professional cameras, flash cameras or video and audio recording equipment or camera poles
  • Poles, sticks, or “totems”
  • Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of law enforcement or security officials.

Acceptable Items

  • Hydration packs that are not backpacks (empty upon entry)
  • Bags made of clear plastic, clear vinyl or clear PVC (not exceeding 13 inches x 17 inches)
  • One-gallon clear, plastic zip-top bag
  • Fanny packs
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap is allowed
  • Cell phones
  • Sunglasses and hats
  • Illuminated or glowing jewelry or costumes
  • Sealed packs of cigarettes upon entry
  • Non-professional cameras
  • Action cameras, such as a GoPro
  • Regarding action cameras – yes to strap headwear or non-extendable handles
  • Earplugs
  • Flags and banners (no corporate or company branding; no hard poles)
  • Powdered makeup
  • Feminine products (sealed upon entry)
  • Prescription medication (you must have the prescription/label in your name with you)

Acceptable Forms of Identification for Entry

  • U.S. passport or U.S. passport card
  • Foreign government-issued passport (must have photo and date of birth)
  • Foreign government-issued identification card or driver’s license (must have photo and date of birth) along with a photocopy of a valid passport from the same country as the identification card or driver’s license provided
  • U.S. military ID (active duty or retired military)
  • U.S. driver’s licenses or other state photo identification cards issued by a state department of motor vehicles (or equivalent) for the sole purpose of identification (must have photo and date of birth)
  • Native American tribal photo ID (must have photo and date of birth)
  • Canadian driver’s license or identification card (must have photo and date of birth)

Unacceptable Forms of Identification for Entry

  • School identifications
  • Expired identifications of any kind
  • Birth certificates
  • Social Security cards
  • Voter card
  • Photocopies of any identifications
  • Consular identification
