CLEARWATER, Fla. - The 2018 Tampa Bay Wealth Summit is coming to the Hilton on Clearwater Beach on Saturday.

The event features speakers trained in investment strategies and wealth building. It will also feature keynote speakers who are prepared to share their stories of overcoming difficulties in life.

Valarie Schlosser, 52, who was featured in an On The Road story in 2017, will speak on the financial difficulties associated with fighting cancer.

“When you’re diagnosed with cancer, it attacks so many aspects of your life, especially financially. If you're not a millionaire the simple things in life become unaffordable,” she said. “It's important that I share my story at this event to make those aware of being in control of your finances will help the process of healing when a diagnosis of cancer comes into your life.”

Schlosser was asked to share her journey through stage IV colon cancer as both a survivor and patient. She’s dealt with colorectal cancer for three years. She was diagnosed in February 2015.

“I have had 62 rounds of chemotherapy treatments which are 46 hours processes,” she explained. “This also has caused me not to be able to work and to be depending upon friends and others for help.

“I'm hoping people can walk away from this event learning that within us all is a key to drive the passion that is within us. I want them to understand that your health is also part of your wealth!”

Expected keynote speakers include Lisa Nichols and James Arthur Ray. Tickets are still available and the registration fee has been waived.
