ORLANDO, Florida — Universal Orlando recently took down construction walls around its new, highly-anticipated attraction, Jurassic World: Velocicoaster in its Islands of Adventure theme park.
With the walls taken down, guests were given a brand new look at the rollercoaster, which takes on a whole new life at night.
During a recent trip to Universal Orlando, we saw how the night really changes the ride. The darkness really lets the onboard lights shine and shows off themed lighting around the ride which changes between red and blue as vehicles race by.
Universal says riders will "feel the rush of the hunt as you race through the jungle alongside Velociraptors."
Let's dig deeper into what Universal says makes this attraction so special.
- The ride will have the fastest launch in the state, going from 40 to 70 miles-per-hour in just 2.4 seconds.
- Four inversions, including an inverted stall.
- The steepest coaster drop in all of Universal Orlando, at 80° degrees.
The ride is slated to open in summer 2021.
