CLEARWATER, Fla. – Choppy water conditions at Honeymoon Island State Park has delayed the release of a green sea turtle.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium initially planned to release the turtle named Feta on Wednesday morning.

Crews rescued the 1.8-pound turtle on Jan. 31 off Clearwater Beach.

Part of Fema’s tail is missing from a previous injury, which has since healed.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission cleared Feta for release.

Feta received daily glucose checks, fluids and antibiotics during rehabilitation at CMA.

CMA has not said when it plans to release Feta after Wednesday's event got postponed.
