Two new buddies are getting acquainted at a Florida theme park.
SeaWorld Orlando has welcomed two walrus calves, Ginger and Aku. Aku was rescued from a gold-mining dredge off the coast of Alaska, and Ginger was born at the theme park in June.
Aku was sent to the park because of the closeness in age to Ginger and their compatibility as companions.
The two calves have been getting around-the-clock care for the past several weeks as their new home is being prepared at the park.
Walruses face increasing threats in the wild from habitat loss and declining food supply, the park says.
