Recycle leftover Gasparilla beads for free Krispy Kreme doughnuts in south Tampa

Anyone who brings in 12 pounds or more in beads to the Krispy Kreme at 3113 West Kennedy Blvd will receive a dozen glazed doughnuts.

TAMPA, Fla. - A Krispy Kreme in south Tampa is collecting leftover Gasprilla beads this weekend in exchange for free doughnuts.

Anyone who brings in 12 pounds or more in beads to the Krispy Kreme at 3113 West Kennedy Blvd will receive a dozen glazed doughnuts.

Saturday's "Beads for Doughnuts" event goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MacDonald Training Center trainees will sort and recycle the beads for distribution next year. Proceeds benefit programs for people with disabilities.
