The best thing about Cyber Monday? It's online rather than waiting in line. Over $3 billion dollars are expected to be spent on the retail-created holiday.
"It's an opportunity for consumers who were traveling during Thanksgiving and didn't get a chance to shop during the Black Friday sales to maybe save some money on holiday gifts," said Brent Shelton, and online shopping expert with fatwallet.com. "I look at Cyber Monday as an opportunity to take advantage of their store-wide discounts. The branded clothing stores might have up to 50% off clothes."
Don't forget to stop at the big box websites.
To save search time there are websites like fatwallet.com that aggregate the deals by category.
"Deals start today. Many places will extend through the week. And the second Monday in December is known as Green Monday when there are more deals," Shelton said.
Downloading the latest versions of retailers apps can also snag you additional discounts.
