Three people were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Lakeland, police said.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. at U.S. Highway 98 North and George Jenkins Boulevard. A 2005 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Tarkeshia Graydron, 37, of Lakeland, cut across traffic to change lanes in the eastbound lanes of the 98 Bypass and struck a 2004 Oldsmobile driven by Bernice Robinson, 44, of Lakeland, police said.

Graydon and Terrell Davis, 34, of Plant City, were trapped in the SUV and had to be extricated.

All involved in the crash were transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No citations were issued, but the crash remains under investigation.

Southbound lanes of the 98 Bypass were closed down for about 2 hours as a result of this crash.
