COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus State Community College issued a warning that a man was armed with a gun at a campus building.

The alert was published on Twitter around 10 a.m. and said that a man who was possibly armed with a gun was on campus at the TL building on Cleveland Avenue, CBS affiliate WBNS reported Wednesday morning.

The school's downtown campus was closed for the day in response to the alert.

Campus security told WBNS that there was no lockdown issued and the building was cleared by around 10:30 a.m.

CSCC was put on alert after a student reported a man was showing a gun on the second floor of the TL building then left.

A search is ongoing by Columbus Police and CSCC Police of the area around the building and in the surrounding area of downtown Columbus.
