PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Pinellas County deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle driving on 22nd Ave. S. and 31 St. South around 9:50 a.m. and tried to make a traffic stop on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016. The driver suddenly took off really quickly and deputies used stop sticks to deflate the tires of the car.
The driver took off on foot and deputies were able to catch and arrest him near the area of 3206 Freemont Terrace South. The driver, 31-year-old Julius Ramone Johnson, admitted to driving without a valid license and deputies discovered 33 grams of crack cocaine inside the Buick he was driving.
According to the Pinellas County Sherrif's Office, it was discovered that Johnson was previously arrested for the vehicular manslaughter of school crossing guard and was out on a $360,000 bond following the incident that happened on May 20, 2014. The incident happened at the intersection of Gulf to Bay Blvd. and Belcher Rd. in Clearwater.
Johnson now faces further charges, including fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and trafficking of cocaine. He was sent to the Pinellas County Jail without any further issues.
