HARVEST, Ala. – There is a manhunt underway for a man suspected of shooting and killing a Pinellas Park orchestra member, who was also his landlord, in February.

Siddeeq Ma'Shooq, 45, is also known as Steven Brooks of St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a suspect in the murder of Caroline Morton-Hicks on Feb. 12, 2018.

Court records show that Morton-Hicks was Ma'Shooq's landlord, and that she had filed in court to have him evicted two days before she was killed.

On Wednesday night, Ma’Shooq held an elderly couple hostage inside a home in Madison County, Alabama. He released the hostages, but escaped law enforcement during the standoff.

Law enforcement in Alabama along with U.S. Marshals tried to arrest Ma'Shooq on an arrest warrant.

The investigation is ongoing.
