WINTER HAVEN - Police are investigating after a 39-year-old man was shot causing his vehicle to crash into a nearby apartment.

Around 1:30 Friday morning, police received a call of a crashed into an apartment in Northwest Winter Haven. The caller said that a vehicle rolled into the back of her apartment from a parking lot nearly and it appeared the man was passed out. The caller also reported hearing gunshots.

When officers arrived they found Jimmie Lee Rogers Jr. unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

EMS responded to the scene and transported him to the hospital where he died.

Heartland Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for information in this case that leads to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
