A University of South Florida football player has been charged with sexual battery, USF police said.
According to a report, police were notified of a reported sexual battery that took place on campus about noon Thursday. The victim and the suspect, Kevaughn Javell Dingle, 18, are acquaintances, police said.
After an investigation, USF police said they had sufficient cause to charge Dingle. He was arrested and taken to Hillsborough County jail for booking.
Dingle is a freshman wide receiver for the USF Bulls.
