TAMPA - A USF student has been arrested after police say she lied about being robbed at the USF campus.

Fatou Gueye, 19, said she was walking on campus Tuesday around 9:00 p.m.and said she was robbed by two males. After investigating the incident, police determined Gueye made up that she had been robbed.

She was booked into jail for false report of a crime.


University of South Florida Police are looking for two men they say robbed a student.

A press release said the robbery happened after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday near the center of campus.

The student says she was approached by two male suspects in their early 20's and they took her jewelry.

A university text message alert was sent shortly after the incident to let students know.

The victim was not injured and the investigation is ongoing.
