It’s our favorite part of the week!

Friday leads us into the weekend, but it’s also when we showcase our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida. This week we spent time on the campus of Northeast High School in Pinellas County.

If you haven’t met the Viking Nation at NEHI, you’re missing out.

The students are filled with school spirit and they have a lot to be proud of. In addition to their athletic programs, students have several academic tracks to choose from.

The four academies include Automotive and Manufacturing, Finance, Information Technology and Culinary.

The academies offer more than just hands-on training and certifications. They also offer services to students, staff and even the public on occasion.

Take the Finance Academy for example. They run an Achieva Credit Union bank branch on campus that serves both students and faculty banking needs.

The Culinary Academy not only cooks food, but they also operate the NEHI Bistro, which is open to the public from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday. The serve a three-course seasonal lunch for $10. Don’t just take our word for it that the food is delicious, check it out for yourself and support one of our local Bay area schools.

With so much to offer, it’s easy to see why Northeast High School is our 10News School of the Week powered by Duke Energy Florida.
