Firefighters are trying to encircle a fast-growing fire in Starkey Park so they can pen it in near the Anclote River.

That was the strategy, according to says Mike Penn, Withlacoochee Forestry Center operations manager for the Florida Forest Service.

The Suncoast Parkway between State Road 52 and State Road 54 remains closed.  All lanes of State Road 54 and Wesley Chapel were re-opened.

Starkey Park is closed until further notice and people were being evacuated.  Bike trails into the park are  closed and all camping reservations for Saturday night were canceled.

At this point, we don't know how the fire started.

Meanwhile, three brush fires are burning in Hillsborough County.   In all, the fires cover around 200 acres, and crews report the blaze is 90 percent contained.

I-75 has reopened after being shut down from Fletcher Avenue to Bruce B. Downs Blvd for several hours.  Flatwoods Park has been evacuated and is closed.  No homes are threatened.
