TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the State of Florida and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), announced more than $7.3 million in disaster assistance grants and loans has been distributed to Hurricane Hermine-affected homeowners and renters.
To date, FEMA distributed $4.8 million in grants to individuals and households for temporary rental assistance, essential home repairs and other disaster-related needs. SBA distributed nearly $2.5 million in low-interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes, providing financial assistance for long-term rebuilding and contents replacement. FEMA grants are limited to assisting with immediate recovery needs, such as safe housing.
