ORLANDO-- A man arrested when Orlando police mistook donut glaze for meth is suing the city and the company that makes the drug testing kits.
During a traffic stop in December, Daniel Rushing was arrested and brought to jail after police in Orlando mistook a few flakes of donut glaze in his car for bits of crystal methamphetamine. Twice, drug kits by Safariland showed it was meth. Later, testing proved it was doughnut glaze.
Rushing, 65, wants more than $15,000 in damage and says he suffered emotional harm.
