We are getting closer to finding out who will be chosen to redevelop Tropicana Field.

A selection committee met Friday afternoon to cut down a list of 15 firms vying to win the redevelopment job. The project will be huge for whoever wins the deal.

They'll have to develop a master plan for the 85 acres where Tropicana Field sits. One of the firms chosen for the short list is Littlejohn from Orlando. They say with this kind of real estate, it's the dream project.

"Usually, you're lucky if you have one block. When you talk about 85 acres it's a great opportunity, but it's really not about the acres, it's about the place. It's St. Pete. That's what's exciting about this opportunity," says George Kramer who represented the company at Friday's meeting.

The seven firms chosen are:

-- ASD/Sky

-- Callison RTKL

-- Gensler

-- HKS

-- HRA

-- Littlejohn

-- Stantec

They will present their plans to the committee at 8:30 a.m. April 22.
