A preliminary version of an audit of Tampa International Airport is raising questions about how it is spending money and awarding grants.

10 Investigates first told you about possible spending issues related to TIA's massive expansion two years ago.

Our partners at the Tampa Bay Times got a copy of the audit.

It found the airport misused a state grant and raised questions about the awarding and oversight of contracts related to the expansion.

It also raised questions about the project's public arts fund and raises given to top executives.

However, state auditors did not say there was any public corruption going on at the airport.

The audit called for tweaks to policies and improved transparency.

It should be noted that the copy of the audit received by the Times is not a finalized version.
