Tampa, Florida - The energy at IIFA was explosive. Thousands of people were at Raymond James Stadium early, some as early as Saturday morning.

John Travolta gave 10 News a shoutout when he arrived! Fans gave their Bollywood and Hollywood stars an even bigger shout out -- literally. It was Bollywood meets Hollywood as Kevin Spacey and Deepika Padukone arrived within minutes of each other.

Padukone said to Spacey, "Thank you so much." Then, in an open-ended question, she invited him to work together in a Bollywood film. "Do you want to direct one or act in one?" she asked.

Spacey told 10 News this is his first IIFA Awards and his first Green Carpet.

"I've never been down a green one. I've seen some envy on a carpet, but never a green carpet," he said.

Fans also cheered for Anil Kapoor, who is dubbed the most recognized IIFA actor globally for his role in Slumdog Millionaire. He said, "When they smile, I'm happy."

Tampa's DJ Ravi Drums was also happy to be home. "We will do 'Do the Tampa,' which I co-wrote," he said.

Thousands of fans went inside for the awards ceremony. The event got off to a late start and is expected to go late into the night.
