3 high school students hit by car at Valrico bus stop

Friday morning's crash happened at Miller Road South and Bonterra Boulevard.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies responded to a crash involving a vehicle and three high school students in Valrico.

VALRICO, Fla. – A driver hit three high school students at a school bus stop Friday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. after a Hillsborough County school bus stopped in the southbound lane of Miller Rd. to pick up students. As three students were crossing the road, one car did not stop and hit three students.

A 15-year-old and 17-year-old student were sent to be treated at the Brandon Hospital, but were in stable condition. Another 17-year-old student complained of a sprained ankle and was picked up by their parents.

The three students attend Durant High School, the Hillsborough County School District said.

The driver that struck the three students has been issued a civil citation for failing to stop for a school bus when the stop sign is displayed, according to a news release.
