TAMPA, Fla. - Mayors from Puerto Rico visited Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn to thank him and the city for helping after Hurricane Maria.

Buckhorn, Mayor Carlos Delgado Altieri of Isabela, Puerto Rico; Mayor Manuel Santiago Mendoza of Aguada, Puerto Rico; and retired United States Air Force Col. E.J. Otero met Thursday.

"You are our fellow Americans and we don't forget that," Buckhorn said. "There may be some in Washington that do, but not in our state and in our city."

Altieri estimated the power grid is about 65 percent repaired in Puerto Rico.

"We stand in solidarity with you come hell or high water, Buckhorn said. "In this case, it was both."
