Residents of a Lakeland nursing home have until Jan 8 to find new places to stay after its Medicare and Medicaid funding was terminated.

The Lakeland Ledger reports the Oakbridge Health Care Center, which has 120 beds, was the subject of eight civil suits this year, and has received bad safety and health reports from state inspectors.

A spokeswoman for the for-profit Consulate Health chain, which runs Oakbridge, said the company would not comment.
