Largo, FL - Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education (NOPE) and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office hosted a ceremony and vigil to remember those who lost their lives to drug and alcohol addiction.

Hundreds of people packed Largo Central Park on Thursday night.

Speaks recounted personal stories to those in the audience of the pain of losing a friend or loved one to drug overdoses. A candlelight vigil was held toward the end of the event.

Organizers say the event brought together people of different religious backgrounds, along with members of government and the private sector in the community.

There was also a makeshift wall with photos that features those who have lost their lives while battling drug addiction.
