MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Bradenton man who allegedly used the social media messaging service Kik to solicit young women to perform sexual acts was charged by police Tuesday.

An investigation into the online habits of George Anthony Stevens, 44, began back in July 16 when detectives received a tip that Stevens was communicating with an underage female.

Stevens was previously arrested in March 2015 for traveling to meet a minor. That individual was instead a Manatee County Sheriff's deputy impersonating a young female as part of a chat operation.

Detectives arrived at Stevens' residence on November 22 and questioned him about his two KIk chat handles "tommygun1975" and "teddybear4243." Stevens admitted to using those accounts and confessed to the accusations.

Stevens was charged with promoting the sexual performance of a child, transmission of harmful material to a minor and violating prohibited use of computer services or devices. He was booked into Manatee County Jail with no bond.
