PALM HARBOR -- Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has arrested one of their own after they say he was involved in a domestic-related dispute.

According to deputies, they responded to an undisclosed residence in Palm Harbor around 10:00 p.m. on January 10 in regards to a domestic-related dispute. When they arrived they determined John Farese, an off-duty deputy, and his ex-girlfriend had engaged in an argument at their house.

Investigators say Farese grabbed the woman's wrist during a struggle for the victim's phone and caused her to fall to the ground-- while she was holding their 22-month-old child. He then took her cell phone when she threatened to call 911.

The child was not injured. The woman sustained minor injury to her knee and wrist.

Farese was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.

The investigation continues.
