PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- A 15-year-old girl was approached by an unidentified male that she did not recognize on Oct. 14, 2016. The incident happened on Bartelt Rd. in Holiday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Update: Local residents have reached out to deputies, providing security footage of the what appears to be the suspicious van described by the 15-year-old girl. According to the footage, the van appears to have damage to the bumper at the front of the van and is missing a left hubcap.

The man was in his thirties to fifties and attempted to talk to the girl, encouraging her to get in his older model blue van for a ride. He is being described as a bald, white male.

The 15-year-old declined the offer for a ride and made it back to her home safely.

The PCSO continue to investigate the case and have encouraged parents to talk to their children about approaching and talking to strangers. Deputies are also encouraging for local residents to check security cameras for possible video footage of the incident.
