Driver dead after crashing into Wesley Chapel lake following seizure

The driver had a seizure before driving into the lake.

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - A vehicle with three people drove into the pond at Wesley Chapel District Park, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

The driver had a seizure and drove into the water at about 8:26 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

"Two adult passengers. a male and female, made it out safe," the department said. "The adult driver was trapped and was in the water for a length of time. He has been transported to a local hospital in critical condition."

The 22-year-old driver has since died due to injuries from the crash. The two additional passengers have been treated and were released at the scene.

Firefighters and sheriff's deputies jumped into the pond to help the victims out of the water.
