NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- A woman was taken to the hospital after being rescued from a house fire early Wednesday.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 6900 block of Alken Circle and saw heavy smoke and fire, said Division Chief Shaw Whited with Pasco County Fire Rescue.
Whited said two women escaped the fire. A third woman had to be pulled from the home and then transported to the hospital, Whited said.
Her condition was not immediately known.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
