PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- A transient man was killed when he was struck by a car as he was crossing Park Boulevard against traffic on Wednesday night.

Pinellas Park Police Department reported that the man was not in the crosswalk as he traversed the roadway located at the 4600 block of Park Boulevard around 8:00 p.m.

The victim, who has not been identified, walked in front of a 2003 Volvo traveling east on Park Blvd. According to police, the man was walking south and pushing a wheelchair when he was struck by the car.

The driver of the Volvo, Debora Beason, 58, of St. Petersburg stopped in a nearby parking lot and provided assistance following the collision. Beason will not be charged in connection with the crash because the victim was in violation of the right-of-way, PPPD said.
