Deputies responded at 6:58 p.m. and started CPR, and then he was taken to Largo Medical Center for treatment. He was later pronounced deceased.

Deputies say Baletsa and his family were in Pinellas County on vacation from Massachusetts.

About 6:40 p.m., deputies responded to 13705 Feather Sound Circle East, Unit 303, at the Bay Meadows Apartment complex for a report of neighbors who found a child floating in a lake.

The parents were home at the time. The father, Ajit Anantharaman, noticed his son, Ayush Anatharaman, was missing and went looking for him, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cecelia Barreda.

The family searched for about 15 minutes before finding the boy floating in a lake behind their apartment complex, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. Ayush was pulled from the water and Fire Rescue attempted to revive him. He was then taken to All Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives say the boy's drowning appears accidental.
