CLEARWATER, Fla. -- After Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes #GivingTuesday, a day designed to help kick off the charitable season.

The Humane Society of Pinellas is 100 percent donation funded. Each year they have to raise $2.3 million dollars just to keep the doors open. That's why big-time donations mean so much.

Earlier this year, a private donor pledged to match every dollar, up to $100,000, donated to services aimed at helping seniors and low-income pet owners.

This includes Senior Pet Connection, which gives pet supplies to low-income, homebound seniors. The Angel Fund, which helps pay for veterinary care to pets that belong to families who can’t afford it. And purchasing a new mobile medical unit.

As of Tuesday morning, they raised $83,000, and they are using #GivingTuesday to help them reach the full $100,000.

You can help them reach their goal by donating online or in person.
