LAKELAND, Fla. - A Lakeland Electric lineman is out of a job after he was accused of stealing three pieces of memorabilia from a Puerto Rican airport office in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
Our news partners at the Lakeland Ledger report Joshua Lindsey was fired Friday after an internal investigation.
Lindsey and a utility team were helping rebuild Puerto Rico’s electric grid after Hurricane Maria.
According to a public-records request from the Ledger, Lindsey, 29, took three items from a private conference room on the second floor of the San Juan airport.
Lindsey took two autographed Major League Baseball Balls, valued between $1,000 and $4,500 each. He also took a “fine porcelain figure” valued about $500.
