ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - A 48-year-old woman faces charges for murdering her wife, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.

Jessica Winkler will be charged with murder and tampering with evidence after shooting Rhiannon Layendecker, 51, during an argument inside their Overbrook Road home on Saturday, authorities said.

Winkler contacted emergency dispatchers at about 4 p.m. and said she killed Layendecker, the sheriff's office said.

Layendecker's body was found in the bed of her truck, wrapped in a blanket.

Additional evidence was found in a nearby body of water. Detectives also found a residence in Charlotte County where Winkler planned to bury Layendecker's body, the sheriff's office said.

Winker remained in the Sarasota County Jail on Sunday with no bond.
