The man suspected of killing four people in Seminole Heights attended events at a local school and privately coached students athletically, the school says.

Trinity School of Children, 2402 W Osborne Ave., released a statement today on Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, saying he attended events at the school because a relative is a student.

The school also said it understands Donaldson privately coached students in athletic events, but that the coaching took place outside the school campus and that he was not a school employee.

Here is the statement.

Just like all other residents of Tampa Bay, we are relieved to hear of an arrest in connection with the shootings around Seminole Heights.

The suspect, Howell Donaldson III, has attended athletic and other events at Trinity School for Children because a member of the Donaldson family is a current student. Mr. Donaldson was not an employee of our school; however, we understand he provided private athletic coaching to some students at facilities outside of our campus.

Student safety is our number one priority here, so we have shared what we know about Mr. Donaldson with our students and parents. In addition, we have counselors ready to help. The Hillsborough County School District is also aware and have offered their support if we need it.

Donaldson, 24, was arrested Tuesday and has been charged in the four murders that have taken place in recent weeks in Seminole Heights.
