She's 9 and already running her own treats business

Her very first time selling her Treatz by Terryn at her aunt's hair salon, she knew she was onto something.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The process might not be as smooth as Terryn Robinson would like just yet, but that hasn't stopped the 9-year-old from starting her own business.

“Her business is booming,” said Analisa Junior, Terryn’s mom.

After selling her "Treatz by Terryn" for the first time at her aunt’s hair salon, she knew she was onto something.

“I made $128,” Terryn said.

She sells her chocolate-covered strawberries and candy apples to other kids in her after school program a few days a week, but if it was up to her, she would always have sweets to sell.

“Even when I don't have them, they still ask me for them,” Terry said.

And she thinks about the money she could've made.

“Sometimes we just can't do it and every day she's coming home like 'I could have made $9 today,” her mom said.

This all started as a way to save money.

“For my birthday, I wanted treats but they cost too much so we made our own,” Terryn said.

Now, it's helping her plan for the years ahead.

“I'm saving it for college,” she said.

And it’s a good way to follow her mom's advice.

“My mom told me I shouldn't work for nobody, I should work for myself,” Terryn said.
