A construction worker had to be rescued from a roof after falling from a ladder on Tuesday, Hernando County Fire Rescue officials said.

About 1 p.m., crews went to the construction site at 11055 Spring Hill Drive after the worker, whose name was not released, fell from the ladder and sustained traumatic injuries.

The Light Tactical Rescue Team, which is trained in technical rescue and special operations, went into action, lowering the patient from the roof in a basket before the victim was flown to Bayonet Point Medical Center's trauma center in critical but stable condition.
