Four of Tampa Bay's most well-known deviled crab makers came together for Rep. Janet Cruz's 2nd annual Deviled Crab Throwdown at Higgins Hall in Tampa Saturday morning.

Deviled Crab originated in Ybor City after a cigar worker strike in 1920. Since money was tight, the workers would fish for blue crab and make dishes centering around the crustacean.

10News Anchor Dion Lim served as a judge for the event for the second year.

Brocato's took first place for the second year in a row. Second place went to Rose's, who supplies deviled crab to five Tampa Bay restaurants. Third went to The Seabreeze and fourth, Mr. Empanada.

The crowd of attendants agreed: since all recipes were different, each entry was a winner!
