WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – Get ready to hit the links for a good cause.

Golf Fore Guts takes place on Saturday, April 14, at Saddlebrook Resort and Spa.

This inaugural event supports the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s mission to find a cure for Crohn’s disease.

More than 700,000 people in America suffer from the inflammatory bowel disease and there is no cure. Often, patients manage symptoms through intense treatments.

Parker James started Golf Fore Guts. The 18-year-old boy is a Florida native and student at Saddlebrook Preparatory Academy. James was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 10, and has made it his mission to inspire other young people living with the disease.

“There was a time when I thought my illness was going to keep me from enjoying my love of sports, but I am a fighter,” James said. “So as my extreme sport options became unrealistic, I found a love for the game of golf.

“I came to Saddlebrook Preparatory School to pursue my dreams of playing collegiate golf and will graduate this spring having accomplished that goal.”

The James Family hopes to raise $50,000 for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. All donations will go directly to the foundation to help find a cure.
