Accused school shooter Nikolas Cruz has withdrawn his not guilty plea, according to a Broward County court document.

The document says the plea was filed before the formal charges were filed, so Cruz has withdrawn his plea and "stands mute to the charges."

That means he is not entering a plea either way at this time.

Cruz is accused of opening fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 people.
