Pasco County Government’s Office of Emergency Management has issued a self-evacuation order for residents in the eastern part of the county.
"Anyone who lives in a manufactured home, mobile home or RV should consider seeking shelter as Hurricane Matthew makes landfall along Florida’s east coast, bringing high winds to most of the state," the order reads.
The order is in effect for Pasco residents east of Interstate 75.
Pasco County could see winds in excess of 35 miles an hour late Thursday into Friday evening.
The National Weather Service is not expecting flooding or heavy rain in Pasco County in association with this storm.
