ST. PETERSBURG -- Election Day is coming – just over two weeks away. But why wait to vote?

Early voting kicks off today. The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office will have five locations open for voters.

They were also open over the weekend, accepting mail ballots, and say more than 37 percent of them have already been returned.

Getting your vote in early could help avoid lines in the future, and remove any worries about it counting in what could be an extremely close presidential race in Florida between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

"It means that my vote, my voice, is going to be heard and that my voice is going to count," said Cheryl Greene, an early voter.
