BRADENTON, Fla. -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott proposes a three-day limit on prescribed opioids in an effort to step up the state's fight against the powerful drugs.

In addition to the limit, there also would be a required use of a prescription drug monitoring program. He also proposes $50 million toward substance abuse treatment programs and money going toward drug enforcement councils.

Scott made the announcement Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Bradenton Police Department.
