President-elect Donald Trump’s latest series of Tweets revealed a major announcement on early Wednesday morning that he will leave his business to completely focus on the presidency and to avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived.

“While I am not mandated to do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses,” he Tweeted. “Hence, legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations. The Presidency is a far more important task!”

This announcement comes after much criticism about his business dealings potentially being conflicts of interest, although there is no law regarding this issue.

Trump also announced he will hold a news conference on December 15 with his children in New York. This will be his first news conference as president-elect. He has held private meetings with specific media organizations, but has defied traditional White House protocol on numerous occasions.
