President Trump's Twitter account is often the subject of attention, but it's usually for his messages, not his profile photo.
But that's what critics are focusing on today after he changed it to a photo of himself and Florida officials after he met with first responders who went to the Broward County shooting.
The main criticism is the president is smiling and holding a thumb up.
Our partners at The Tampa Bay Times rounded up some of the criticism, including NBC ""Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd.
Just an odd photo to have posed for and have taken and an even odder decision to make it THE background photo of a social media platform. https://t.co/TTQNEfjpAb
Former GOP congressman David Jolly retweeted this.
Trump’s meeting with the first responders was a somber occasion to reflect on a national tragedy. It is now his twitter handle photo, in which he’s smiling with his thumbs up.
And CBS correspondent Errol Barnett pointed out the difference between Trump's expression and Sen. Marco Rubio's.
President Trump changed his Twitter banner and shared multiple pictures of himself giving thumbs up in the wake of #ParklandSchoolShooting.
He is showing support for first responders, and taking criticism for appearing happy at a somber time.
